DETAILED DESCRIPTION: This is a beautiful and rare example Explorer 2 from 1971 with original Box & Papers. The dial is truly in exceptional condition without any flaws that I can detect even under maginification! Unlike many of the dials from this period that have scuff marks from service or chips on the edge of the dial, this example is absolutely perfect! If that weren't enough, the dial's most magnificent feature has to be the perfectly patina'd and gorgeous yellow markers, making this watch something to behold! In addition to the wonderful dial, the watch is accompanied with a complete collector's package has all the bits & pieces sought by the most discrening afficianados, including DOUBLE punched papers consisting of the SCOC certificate and the guarantee booklet. Please read the following detailed desciptions carefully. Dial: This is one of the finest examples of a matte dial Mark IV Double Red Seadweller dial. The black backround is rich and beatifully contrasted by the PERFECT Red and White lettering. There are no scuffs on the background and the markers are evenly aged with a light creamy patina. Hands: Original Rolex Tritium Orange Hand, Hour, & Minute Hands with matching tritium to the markers on the dial. Case: Previously polished with little or no corrosion. The engravings are very crisp and clear without pitting or bracelet wear. The reference number "1665" appears at 12:00. The case number is crisp and clearly visible at 6:00. Crown & Tube: Original Rolex Crown & Tube. Caseback: Excellent condition. Marked "1655" with little or no corrosion & Dated "II 71". Has previous ethchings from service. Movement: 100% Original running strong. The movement was recently serviced and running strong. Date Wheel: Rolex Original Silver Date wheel Black Numbers.
